Have experienced a 24-hour downtime due to server maintenance on the server that this blog is hosted. Emailed immediately the admin to inform what is going on that I thought would be gone forever for good. The good thing is all my DB has been backed-up just before the outage.
It seems is back now to normal so we can continue some blogging. Just a friendly reminder to everyone. Back-up your site manually. You will never know when will the server will be down especially if you are on the shared hosting server.
Also try to back-up the files you have changed if you have installed a ready made script.

Yes. always backup your data and files in the server. I have an similar incident as you do. I own this article website and there are thousands of articles in the database and i lost most of it because of not backuping the data.
