Did you receive an amount generated by your google referral ads less than what is expected to be the price of conversion? If yes, then don’t blame google about it. They have actually announce it on their adsense blog.
We’ve recently made a change to help make sure that the conversions generated by referral ads are valid. For some publishers who display referrals for non-Google products, the earnings you receive for the ad may now be less than the maximum referral value displayed for that ad. This is because our system will initially place a restriction on referral earnings as we monitor click and conversion data to determine that the conversions generated are valid. Once this validation period ends, you’ll begin earning the maximum value of the conversions as displayed in your account.
This move actually has advantage for the publishers and advertisers. But a disadvantage on those publishers trying to game the system and shall I say rob both the publishers and advertisers.
Some advantage on what I think is fair.
1. Better conversion rate for advertiser for their money spent on advertising their product or business.
2. More referral ads distribution. Hope so.
3. Fair play on the adsense arena.
4. Better adsense service focusing more on their product than tracking those publishers gaming the system with less effort and time.
As stated above, this is not permanent in nature but requires a valid justification on conversion generated to enhance partnership between publishers and advertiser.
