Recently DMOZ gave birth to its own blog located at http://blog.dmoz.org/. In addition, there are issues came up where DMOZ homepage was not indexed on Google search engine. Blogs and forum thread have been put up saying, “hey DMOZ was banned” “DMOZ was penalized”. Good thing is that they have figured it out with the issue of self loop 301 to its own page and googlebot can take the issue after several request.

They explained it well on their new put up blog on this post and with a long reaction chain on this Sphinn. The question still lies, was the new blog created by DMOZ on their site means reborn of their open directory after those controversies they have especially by editors trying to monetize the project?

I wonder how often they will put in some updates on their blog in terms of webmaster reactions on web site listing.  And also wonders how many spammers will try to comment with their link being promoted on that blog. You want to bet on how many spam they will get?
