Just my thoughts on some site and hosting question, becuase this precharge projectnet entry site is offline for few days thus a question on changing host affect search engine position. Thus it?
On my experience the answer is NO, why no? okay lets start with the concept and timeline. You have a domain say http://www.wrigg.net hosted in A with all the data in your that host and assuming that your site is still up, now you want to change it to host B, just go to your domain registrar account then change the DNS setting of your domain that is pointing to the host B. Even if you change already the DNS setting your site will still be up in the web, because of DNS propagation thing up to 24 hours, so set-up the host B for the necessary application and uploading the files to host B. SO by the time the DNS propagated, you have already uploaded your files to new host B and ready to be setup online. So downtime will just occur in about an hour or maybe 1 to 5 hours. And google dont care about this, all he know is re-crawl your site after it was online.
And you will not loose you search engine position.
