Just got the update on my dashboard about the availability of wordpress 2.2.1, so decided to download the files and upgrade to the new version of wordpress.
There are some security issues that have been fixed according to wordpress developers and some bug fixes also from the date they release the version 2.2. Excerpts from their site Wordpress
Some security issues came to light during 2.2.1 development, making 2.2.1 a required upgrade. 2.2.1 addresses the following vulnerabilities:
* Remote shell injection in PHPMailer
* Remote SQL injection in XML-RPC Discovered by Alexander Concha.
* Unescaped attribute in default theme
So why not upgrade? Thanks to wordpress team!
