A pligg powered backbone Ximmy now live and running a Digg like site. It has created a buzz on webmasters by offering an incentive to submit stories and participate in their site. The idea to compensate members is a good thing but on the long run can just end up closing the program due to abuse or the like.
Ximmy’s Blog hosted on wordpress.
XIMMY is about giving users another outlet to discover, share and discuss about your favorite Internet findings and we allow you to make extra money at the same time. We understand that the success of any social networking site depends on the community involved and we therefore look forward to building a friendly, cohesive environment where everyone can respect and appreciate each other’s input.
What can I say, goodluck with your launch and hope you will survive! So if you have not yet signed up, feel free to register on their website Here.
Update: I have have analyzed and look further how ximmy can provide payment to its user. Here is an argument.
1. Ximmy just made a custom theme with software based on pligg.
2. Ximmy even did not change its Meta: reference techcrunch comment. I verified it myself.
3. Domain is registered for just a year???? How come they cannot afford to register it for more than a year?

There are so many sites coming up like digg. It’s a huge competition, Let’s wait and watch whether Ximmy survives the competition.

Eva,
I do have a site like digg powered also by pligg, i have seen some issues on ximmy itself including the vote count and it is very easy to game the system out. One of the best so far I have seen pligg powered site is sphinn.
