Wordpress development team just made a new step to the blog platform by releasing Wordpress 2.3 Beta 1 to the public. There are features that are included based on their development blog
Some of the features of 2.3 include plugin and core update notification, built-in tags support, faster javascript, and SEO-friendly URL redirection.
Since this is on beta stage, there will be issues that you might encounter on your site, so if you are up for beta test this new release you can download it freely on http://wordpress.org/wordpress-2.3-beta1.zip
Maybe I just need to wait for few more weeks or when it out of beta. You can feedback your bugs or issues to the wordpress development team. Good to know wordpress is again moving up to the expectation of the users.
Update: Just installed on one of my wordpress blog and seems no problem so far encountered on the first day with the theme ocadia, incoming links are now being search on blogsearch rather than technorati.
